Care Ministry

The purpose of our care ministry is to provide pastoral care to people searching for Biblical hope for the future and an eternal perspective based on a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

How We Serve

  • Griefshare is a supportive ministry designed for individuals who have experienced the loss of a loved one or family member. Through a faith-based community, Griefshare offers a compassionate environment to help people process their grief, find hope, and journey toward healing.

The group walks through curriculum that charts the promises of God and the peace that He alone provides in His saving grace. With resources and guidance rooted in biblical principles, participants can connect with others who understand their struggles and experience God’s comfort together.

  • The Meal Ministry provides nourishing meals to individuals and families during times of need, offering practical support in moments of difficulty or transition. Whether it’s following the loss of a loved one, recovering from surgery, or celebrating the arrival of a new baby, this ministry delivers meals with love and care, helping to ease the burden and show the compassion of Christ to those in need.

  • In the Care Ministry, visitations are a way of bringing comfort and encouragement to individuals during challenging times. Whether it’s before a major surgery, while mourning the loss of a loved one, or during any other difficult season, the ministry provides personal visits to remind people of the love of Christ. These visits offer spiritual support, prayer, and a caring presence, reflecting God’s compassion during life’s hardest moments.

  • Women’s Care within the ministry focuses on addressing the unique challenges that women face in different stages of life. In partnership with the Women’s Ministry, it provides support for women dealing with the loss of a child, the journey of widowhood, and other circumstances that are specific to the experience of women. Through compassionate care and faith-based guidance, Women’s Care offers a place of hope, healing, and connection with others who understand these deeply personal struggles.

Dr. Bob Weiss, Care Pastor

Bob is the Care Pastor at Maranatha Bible Church. His desire is to minister to people within a hospital context, to those who are shut-ins, within a nursing home or hospice setting, or to anyone in this troubled world searching for biblical hope for the future and for an eternal perspective based on a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. He finds it satisfying to remind people of God’s faithfulness to keep His promises, of His love for them, and of His gracious provision for them, both now and forever. After serving as a hospice chaplain for 12 years in IN and TX, he finds his ministry as Care Pastor at MBC extremely gratifying.
