About Us

What do we believe?

Maranatha Bible Church exists to make disciples who believe in Christ, connect with one another, grow in Christ, and serve Him.

Maranatha Bible Church exists to make disciples…

A disciple is one who follows after another. Jesus commanded the Apostles to go and make disciples:
Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit…” (Matthew 28:19)

Maranatha Bible Church exists to make disciples who believe in Christ…

When asked the question “What must I do to be saved?” Paul and Silas answered, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.” (Acts 16:30-31) If we believe in Jesus Christ as Savior, then and only then can we truly be His disciples. In believing in Christ, we acknowledge we are sinners (Romans 3:23, 6:23), we acknowledge his death on the cross as payment for our sins (John 3:16, 1 Peter 3:18), we acknowledge his resurrection as victory over death (1 Corinthians 15:14-19), and we acknowledge that Christ alone can save (Acts 4:12; John 14:6). We recognize that true belief in the Gospel of Jesus Christ is the only way to have salvation. As Paul said, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.” (Romans 1:16)

God’s desire is for every believer to be unified in the Body of Christ (1 Corinthians 1:10). Being unified in the Body of Christ demands fellowship with other believers (Acts 2:42, 46-47; Hebrews 10:25). To accomplish this, we seek to provide many points of contact and interaction within the body. We encourage every believer to connect with one another through our Adult Bible Fellowships, Connect Groups, and various studies and gatherings.

Healthy things grow. The same is true of the child of God (2 Peter 3:18). If we are healthy, we will be growing. We want every believer to grow in Christ (Colossians 2:6-7). We grow in Christ as we study His Word (2 Timothy 2:15), apply it to our lives, and live obediently before Him (James 1:22). We encourage every believer to be regularly engaged in Sunday morning worship services where the Word of God is preached, to be engaged in personal study of God’s Word, and to be engaged in group study of the word of God by way of Connect Groups, Adult Bible Fellowships, or additional Bible studies.

Every believer has been called to serve. Jesus modeled this during his earthly ministry (Matthew 20:27-28), and set the example for us to follow. Every believer has been equipped by God to serve, and we desire to see every believer in Christ serve Christ, both in the church and in the community,

We believe there is one God, Creator of heaven and earth, existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God.

We believe Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, and He alone is Savior.

We believe the Holy Spirit is God, and He lives within every believer from the time of salvation.

We believe salvation is by God’s grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone.

We believe, preach, and live out the Gospel of Jesus Christ: Jesus died for our sins, was buried, and rose again.

We believe He is coming back – Maranatha! (Lord Jesus, come!)

Who are we?

Maranatha Bible Church was founded on September 24, 1995, when 465 people first met for worship at Springfield High School.

From its beginning, the church has been purpose-driven, focusing on worship, evangelism, discipleship, service, and fellowship.

The property where Maranatha stands was purchased in 1997. In August 2002, the ground was broken and on Sunday, February 8, 2004, the work became a reality with the first worship service being held in the new building. In 2005, Maranatha sent out the first of five churches that have been planted locally.
